  1. I can tell you're going to have a ton of fun with these Conrad, despite the fact there's probably going to be a lot of hair pulling on your part before you get to the fun. What really makes these sweet is the little bits of curtain or whatever that make it into the shot that really play with the composition. The whole beautiful/weird looking people thing only makes the little imperfections even better. On top of that most of these images come alive because of the stark contrast between the subjects and their backgrounds. Pretty sweet stuff.

  2. These are amazing. The photographer took something that is often cliche, fashion photography, and turned it into pure art. What really makes all these photos pop is the texture and patterns worn by the models. I am really excited to see what your project comes out as. I like the black borders that the photographer uses, it emphasizes the whites, greys, and blacks in the photo. The seem sort of crooked, is that because you scanned them or is the artist trying to appear a bit off balance on purpose? Really excited to see your work,

  3. I never thought fashion photography could be so fun. My favorite thing would have to be how the photographer positioned the models in such strikingly angular poses. It creates a wonderful contrast between the sharpness of the model's body and the softness of their clothing and faces.

  5. Fashion photography can be really hard to do, so I'm impressed you're attempting it for one thing. They are gorgeous photos, in any case--I love the attention to texture and details, and the way the models are framed in each picture. I'm interested in seeing what you end up doing for backgrounds in your photos, as I know it can be hard to recreate a smooth, solid backdrop.

  7. I hope you were able to find models that look as intriguing as these individuals. I'm excited to see what you end up with, fashion photography is so different than anything I'm familiar with.

  8. these textures are incredible. i feel like high fashion photography is more difficult to mimic than commercial stuff (including you need more from your models) so i'm looking forward to seeing the final prints

  9. These photos encapsulate some past era. In each shot there is a different human being, which we receive through their position, dress and expression. His simple backgrounds further amplify his subjects.

  10. I love the texture in each of the prints, I'm curious to what kind of fashion you geared your shoot towards, I'm assuming you didn't do high end fashion like this. Also if your relying on your models for part of the essence of the shot, are you confident in their emotions? I hope the lighting turns out well, especially if you've never tried something like this before

  11. The models in these photos seem unapproachable, and, you know, I'm intrigued. This is so different from what I've photographed. I like the idea of fashion photographers capturing the image of a person as opposed to something deeper, something the viewer can't 'see'. We aren't supposed to think too hard about these people. The industry of fashion, beauty captured in a moment, an era captured in clothing-- Just some thoughts. I know you had a great time with this, the photos I've seen really reflect how much you enjoyed emulating this photographer.

  12. These are some beautiful photographs. His work reminds me a lot of Richard Avedon because they are in the vein of dynamically composed fashion shots. Light is obviously an important element of all of these photographs and I love how you can see the range of possibilities available through studio lighting in your selection.

  13. i love how charged these are. they have a buzzing energy. every model is either doing something, making a face, or something else active like that. they make me tired just looking at them.

  14. I like the negative space the photographs capture from the models' poses. The space creates just as interesting shapes as the clothing the models are dressed in.
